One of my very best friends, Laura, emailed me the other day with a very fun challenge- she wants to buy some new fall clothes, doesn't want to spend a fortune, and wants to make sure that the pieces will transition from work to night. She told me what she already had and from there I set off to come up with an appropriate but fun wardrobe for fall. I absolutely love faux-fur vests for fall- I bought one last year but it just swallowed me; fortunately for Laura she is tall, beautiful and has a great figure (and the best MOH ever!!) so I have no doubt that she can pull off the vest. The teal skirt from J. Crew is a personal favorite as I bought it earlier this fall. I thought it would just be worn occasionally in my work repertoire but I was surprised to have already gotten a ton of mileage out of it. Just last week I wore a combo similar to the one in the first picture as well as picture #11 (sans vest). Does look #6 look familiar- it should- I blogged about a similar outfit here. I used a good amount of things from Ann Taylor and Banana Republic as both companies regularly have promotional sales. In fact, starting today all full priced items at Ann Taylor are 40% off and I know that Banana will have 30% quite often.
Similar to what she owns:
black pumps, black trousers, black skirt, jeans, Tory Burch Flats, black high-heeled boots, jean shirt, quilted boots, black blazer, black belt,
To buy for fall:
navy blazer, light brown boots, fur vest, Sleeveless blouse, polka dot blouse, teal skirt, tan belt, tan pump, purple scarf, white blouse, sweater, dress
LOVE this vest! And that jean shirt is exactly what my cousin has been looking for !
